Designer Spotlight~ Colette van den Thillart

I have a little secret. I happen to have one of the world's most talented designers as my Sister-in-law. I haven't posted about her previously because I didn't want to come across as all braggy...but when you have someone as awesome as her in your family, sometimes a girl just has to brag a little! My Sis-in-law, Brother and my two darling nieces live in Toronto, fresh from London. We are SO glad to have them back!!!! You may have seen one of their homes featured in House and Home Magazine, or Traditional Home.
(That's their cottage on the cover!)

She is currently featured in this month's Tradional Home, the feauture is "On the Prowl" 24 hours: A day in life of Nicky Haslam and Colette van den Thillart

A little about the fabulous Colette. She was born in Ontario, and married my brother in 1996. She has worked alongside Brian Gluckstein and is now the right hand woman of the famed Nicky Haslam of NH Design. Their clients include the likes of Royalty and Rock Stars, such as Mick Jagger. She is famous for her witty and utterly fearless design style.
I have decided to share some images from the February Traditional Home when their Toronto home was featured.  xx

Rachel Zoe's office is bananas!

I'm sure you've all heard of Rachel Zoe, stylist to the stars. Her clients include fab ladies such as Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Garner and Kate Beckinsale.....well, her office is simply scrumptious. Filled to the brim with designer duds, shoes, hand bags and nail polish.....in a nutshell, it's heaven (or in the words of Rachel Zoe, it's BANANAS!)

I love a round table esp with a little Gucci on it!

Is this real life????

I'll take the lil gold one on the right pretty please

Every girl should have a nail polish rack in her office! Hello, it only makes sense!

If This Blog Were a Room

If this blog were a room, it would definitely be filled with chandeliers, lots of gold, lovely silks, a bit of French country, hits of pink, glamour, Louis Chairs, a bit of Kitsch, an animal or two, some florals, sophistication and a whole lot of chic! Whew!

Colour Your World

Colour on the walls...yea or nay? I am a beige girl all the way. I so want to be the bold type of gal who paints her walls black or purple but I just can't seem to do it! Seriously folks, every single wall in our house is either beige or gray (minus the wallpaper in my daughter's room)....boooring right!?! Lately I've been noticing and loving colour! Let me present you with the evidence that has me changing my mind...
Exhibit A) Mint? I mean I haven't seen mint on walls since the nineties but lately I've been strangely drawn to it. I can't even believe. Exhibit B) Blush pink/purple. For a little girl's room right??? Or so I thought! I saw this room in Lonny a few months ago and instantly fell in love. Exhibit C) Black???? What are we, Goth? But have a looksie at these rooms with black walls and tell me they aren't totally glam! This boring beige girl may be turning over a new leaf!!! Someone let the Hubs know....
